Field notes

Build an add-on menu customers can understand

Describe optional detailing work with a clear scope and realistic extra time.

01

Give every extra a reason to exist.

An add-on should address a specific need beyond the base package. Explain the additional work in plain language and say when a customer should discuss it with you first. Do not sell an item twice by making a task both a package inclusion and an unexplained extra.

02

Configure time as carefully as price.

Detailr accounts for add-on duration when scheduling the job. Use realistic estimates based on your process and review them as you gain experience. Two small extras can materially change the appointment. A menu that understates time can make even a modest booking day difficult to deliver.

03

Test the customer’s decision.

Read the menu as if you had never detailed a car. Can you tell what each extra changes? Is a specialist term explained? Are limitations clear? Ask whether a particular vehicle condition needs an assessment before booking, and keep the final selection consistent with the conversation.

Questions, answered.

Where can I see actual services and appointment times?

Open Detailr and use your location to explore participating businesses, their packages and available appointments. Prices and availability vary by provider and location.

What should I review before booking?

Check the selected vehicle, service inclusions, extras, location, appointment time, complete total including the customer transaction fee, and the applicable terms. Message the business if anything is unclear.

a better kind of care.
