Field notes

Write a detailing service people can understand

A practical approach to package descriptions that helps customers choose and detailers prepare.

01

Lead with the purpose

Explain who the service is for and the main work it covers. A customer should understand the package without knowing trade terminology. Define any specialist term that changes what the customer expects to receive.

02

Specify inclusions and exclusions

List concrete areas or tasks instead of relying on words such as deluxe or premium. State relevant exclusions. If vehicle condition may change the work or price, explain the review process clearly before the customer commits.

03

Use a simple example

An example description might say: “Interior refresh for a regularly maintained vehicle. Review the listed areas and tell us about pet hair or specific stains before booking.” This is a writing example, not a live Detailr offer. Your actual service description must match your work.

04

Describe an add-on as a decision

Explain the extra work, the circumstances in which it is useful and the additional time it requires. If the base service already includes the task, say so. The customer should be able to tell whether the extra is relevant without feeling they must buy every option to receive a complete service.

Use the Detailr booking to review the current service, vehicle, location and appointment. Resolve unclear details with the business before confirming. The most useful preparation is the information that changes what the detailer needs to do.

Questions, answered.

Where can I see actual services and appointment times?

Open Detailr and use your location to explore participating businesses, their packages and available appointments. Prices and availability vary by provider and location.

What should I review before booking?

Check the selected vehicle, service inclusions, extras, location, appointment time, complete total including the customer transaction fee, and the applicable terms. Message the business if anything is unclear.

THE NEXT STEP IS SIMPLE

a better kind of care.
