Field notes

Switching detailing software without losing the thread

Plan your move around records, existing appointments and customer expectations.

01

Map what you rely on.

Before changing systems, identify customer records, future appointments, recurring commitments, service descriptions and records you need to retain. Review your existing provider’s export and cancellation options. Do not assume Detailr automatically imports every field or replaces every system; ask support about the current setup process.

02

Build a small, accurate starting point.

Set up the business profile, a clear service menu, employee work hours and suitable add-ons. Walk through the customer-facing booking information. Check that durations reflect the selected work and that someone owns customer communication. Resolve confusing descriptions before inviting customers into the new process.

03

Move with a clear handoff.

Choose a sensible transition date and reconcile existing appointments. Avoid accidentally booking the same capacity in two systems. Give customers straightforward instructions about where to manage new bookings and messages. Keep any records and communication channels that your remaining obligations require.

Questions, answered.

Does Detailr charge detailers a subscription or earnings commission?

No. Detailr does not charge detailers a software subscription or take a Detailr commission from their service earnings. The platform is funded by a customer transaction fee.

Can a business schedule recurring services and multiple employees?

Yes. Detailr supports recurring bookings, subscriptions, packages, add-ons and employee scheduling. Add-ons account for the additional time they add to a job. Set realistic services and employee hours in the app.
