Field notes

Choosing an exterior car detailing service

Compare exterior service scope without confusing a wash with every form of paint care.

01

Define the result you want.

An exterior refresh and a specialist finish treatment are not necessarily the same service. Read the package inclusions and ask the provider to explain unfamiliar terms. Describe the concern that prompted your booking rather than selecting the most elaborate-sounding package.

02

Ask about the existing finish.

Tell the business about known coatings, wraps, repairs or sensitive trim. Ask whether the proposed process is suitable and what limitations apply. A photograph of another car’s result is useful context, not a promise that your vehicle will look identical.

03

Plan the location and time.

For mobile work, confirm a suitable working area and any weather contingency. For shop work, confirm drop-off and collection arrangements. Extras can change the appointment duration. Review the complete service and total before booking through Detailr.

Questions, answered.

Where can I see actual services and appointment times?

Open Detailr and use your location to explore participating businesses, their packages and available appointments. Prices and availability vary by provider and location.

What should I review before booking?

Check the selected vehicle, service inclusions, extras, location, appointment time, complete total including the customer transaction fee, and the applicable terms. Message the business if anything is unclear.

Keep the water arrangement with the service scope.

A mobile exterior visit needs more than a hose and room beside the vehicle. Ask about surface compatibility, the working area, containment and an authorized disposal route. For a shop service, confirm the actual package and any separate paint-correction or protective treatment.
