Detailr Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 1st, 2025
Detailr Corp. (“Detailr”, “we”, or “us”) is a Delaware limited liability corporation. We operate a mobile application and website (the “Service”) that connects customers with mobile car detailers. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and your rights regarding that information. This Policy is intended to comply with applicable U.S. laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and Delaware law, and it applies to all users of our Service in the United States.
By using the Detailr app or website, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
We collect personal information that you provide to us, information generated through your use of our Service, and information from third parties. The types of information we collect include:
-
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and a password. If you upload a profile picture, we collect that image as part of your profile. If you are a service provider (detailer), we may also collect information about your services and availability schedule for your profile.
-
Booking and Transaction Information: When you book or provide a detailing service through Detailr, we collect details of the transaction. This includes the services requested, date and time, location of the service (e.g., address or current location for the vehicle), any special instructions, and your booking history. We also collect any reviews or ratings you submit about detailers, as well as reviews about you (if you are a detailer).
-
Payment Information: If you make purchases or receive payments through our Service, payment information (such as your credit or debit card number and billing details) is collected and processed securely by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. Detailr itself does not store your full payment card information; Stripe handles payment transactions on our behalf. (See the Third-Party Services section below for more on Stripe.)
-
Location Data: With your permission, we collect precise geolocation data from your mobile device to enable location-based services. For example, we may use your location to show available detailers near you or to direct a detailer to your requested service location. You can choose whether to grant the app access to location services, and you can disable location access at any time in your device settings. If you do so, you may need to manually enter your location to use certain features.
-
Device and Usage Information: We automatically collect certain information about your device and how you interact with our Service. This may include your device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, browser type, IP address, and app usage statistics (such as features used, pages viewed, links clicked, and session duration). If you visit our website, we collect log information and cookies (see Cookies and Tracking below).
-
Communications: If you contact us for support or with inquiries, or if you communicate through the Service (for example, messaging between a customer and a detailer), we collect the information you provide in those communications. This can include your contact details and the content of your messages or requests.
We collect the above information either directly from you (for instance, when you fill out forms in the app), automatically through your use of the Service, or from third parties (for example, from a social login provider if you use it to sign in).
How We Use Your Information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
-
To Provide and Improve the Service: We use your information to operate the Detailr platform, facilitate bookings between customers and detailers, and provide related services. For example, we use personal details to create your account and profile, process bookings and payments, route detailers to the correct location, and display reviews. We also analyze usage of our app and website to improve functionality, performance, and user experience.
-
To Communicate with You: We use contact information (email, phone number) to send you confirmations, updates and receipts for your bookings, to notify you of service-related announcements (such as changes to your booking or to our terms), and to respond to customer support inquiries. With your consent or as otherwise permitted by law, we may also send marketing communications such as promotions, newsletters, or offers. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us.
-
Payments and Transactions: We use payment information to charge customers for services and route payments to detailers. This includes using third-party payment processors (like Stripe) to securely handle payment transactions and prevent fraud.
-
Safety and Fraud Prevention: We may use information to monitor for and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents. For example, we may use device identifiers and other signals to detect fraudulent accounts or suspicious activity. We also may use and share information as needed to enforce our Terms of Service, to resolve disputes, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Detailr, our users, or others.
-
Personalization and Analytics: We may use data (such as past bookings or location) to personalize your experience. For instance, we might pre-fill your last used service location or suggest frequently used services. We also use analytics to understand how users engage with our Service so we can improve our offerings. This may involve analyzing usage trends or evaluating the effectiveness of our communications.
-
Legal Obligations: We will use or disclose personal information as necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations, such as responding to lawful requests by public authorities, complying with court orders or subpoenas, or meeting reporting and tax obligations.
-
Other Purposes: We may use your information for any other purpose that we disclose to you at the time of collection or that you consent to. We will not use personal information in a manner that is incompatible with the purposes for which it was collected without notifying you and obtaining your consent if required.
How We Share Your Information
We understand the importance of your personal information and share it only as needed to provide our services and as described in this Policy. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
-
With Service Providers and Partners: We share personal information with trusted third-party companies that perform services on our behalf. These service providers assist us with various business operations, including payment processing, data hosting, analytics, customer support tools, and communications. These third parties are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide services to Detailr and are contractually obligated to protect your data. Key service providers are detailed in the Third-Party Services section below.
-
Between Customers and Detailers: If you are a customer requesting a detailing service, we share certain information with your chosen detailer so they can perform the service. This includes details like your first name (and possibly last name initial), service location, vehicle or service details, and any notes or instructions you provided. If you are a detailer, we may display information from your profile (such as your name, business name if provided, profile photo, general location, ratings, and availability) to customers who are considering your services. Communication between customers and detailers through our app (for example, to coordinate details) will also be shared between those parties. We urge all users to keep such communications professional and to not share more personal information than necessary.
-
With Third-Party Services Integrated into Our Service: When you choose to use third-party login or integration features, we share certain data with or receive it from those third parties. For example, if you use a “Sign in with Apple” or “Sign in with Google” feature, we receive personal information (such as your name and email) from those providers as needed to set up your Detailr account. As another example, if our app uses Google Maps services for address lookup or navigation, certain data (like location coordinates or addresses) may be transmitted to Google’s APIs to provide that functionality.
-
For Legal Reasons: We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or legal process, or if we have a good faith belief that such action is necessary to (i) comply with applicable laws, legal obligations, or respond to valid legal requests (such as subpoenas or court orders); (ii) protect and defend the rights or property of Detailr, our users, or others, including to enforce our agreements and policies; (iii) detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; or (iv) protect the personal safety of our users or the public.
-
Business Transfers: If Detailr is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or other business transaction, user information may be transferred to a successor or affiliate as part of that transaction. We will ensure that any such entity is bound by confidentiality obligations and this Privacy Policy (or a policy that provides similar protections for your information). If the processing of your information will be subject to a materially different privacy policy, we will notify you and may give you choices as required by law.
-
With Your Consent or At Your Direction: We will share your personal information with other parties if you request or consent to such sharing. For example, if you choose to participate in a promotional partnership or refer a friend to the Service using a referral program, we might share certain information with those involved as needed to fulfill the promotion. We may also publicly display testimonials or user-generated content with your consent.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary consideration. We also do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes unless you give us permission. If in the future we plan to sell personal information (as “sell” is defined under relevant laws), we will update this Privacy Policy and provide required notices and opt-out mechanisms.
Third-Party Services
We use a number of third-party services to operate and enhance Detailr. These third parties process your information only for the purposes we specify, and we take steps to ensure they safeguard your data. Key third-party services we use include:
-
Stripe (Payment Processing): We use Stripe to handle credit card and payment transactions. When you enter payment information, it is transmitted directly to Stripe, which processes the payment on our behalf. Stripe may collect and process personal data about you and your device for fraud prevention and to improve its services (for example, Stripe may collect identifying information about the device or browser you use for the transaction)cloroxhomeappliances.com. Stripe is a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor, which means it adheres to high security standards for handling payment data. Detailr does not store your sensitive payment card details (such as full card numbers or CVC codes) on our own servers, aside from possibly a payment token or minimal information to identify your transaction (e.g., the last four digits of your card for receipts). For more details on Stripe’s data practices, you can review Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
-
Google/Firebase (Data Hosting & Analytics): Our application and website are supported by backend infrastructure and analytics services provided by Google, such as Google Cloud Platform and Firebase. This means that personal data you provide (like your account information, booking details, messages, etc.) may be stored in Google’s cloud servers (for example, Firebase Firestore or Realtime Database) and subject to Google’s security measures. We may also use Firebase Analytics or Google Analytics to gather anonymous statistical information about how users interact with our app and site. These analytics services use device identifiers, cookies, and similar technologies to collect data on usage patterns, which helps us improve the Service. Google may also receive information through these services, though we do not allow Google to use the data for their own advertising purposes. See Google’s Privacy Policy for more information on how Google handles collected data.
-
Authentication Services (Apple & Google Sign-In): If you choose to register or log in through third-party authentication options like Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, we will receive certain information from these providers as needed to create or access your account. This typically includes your name and email address and an authentication token. We use this information solely to streamline your login experience. These third-party login services do not share your login credentials with us; they simply verify your identity and provide us the necessary data. Any information that Apple or Google collects from you during that process (such as confirmation of your identity, or if you use Apple’s feature to hide your email, an alternate email relay) is governed by their respective privacy policies.
-
Mobile Platforms and Devices: If you downloaded the Detailr app via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, those platforms may collect certain information about you or your device as part of their standard operations (for example, Apple and Google may collect usage statistics, crash reports, or have access to your basic subscriber information when you use their app stores). Any in-app purchases processed through Apple’s App Store or Google Play are handled by Apple or Google, not by Detailr directly. We encourage you to review Apple’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Privacy Policy to understand how they treat your data. Additionally, our mobile applications may use Apple’s or Google’s push notification services to send you alerts (e.g., booking notifications); these services use device tokens but not personally identifying information beyond that needed to deliver messages.
-
Other Service Providers: We may use additional services such as email delivery providers, customer support platforms, or mapping/navigation APIs (e.g., Google Maps for showing maps and directions). We only integrate these services as necessary for our operations and ensure that any personal data shared is limited to what is needed. For example, if we use an email platform to send newsletters or notifications, we would provide your email address and necessary content to that platform. If we use a mapping service to help a detailer navigate to your location, your address or coordinates may be handled by the mapping API. All such providers are expected to protect your data and use it only for the intended purpose.
Each of these third-party services has its own privacy policy which you can refer to for more details on their data practices. We strive to work with reputable providers that meet high standards for privacy and security. If you have any specific questions about the third parties we use, you can contact us for more information.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies: When you visit the Detailr website, we (and our service providers) use cookies and similar tracking technologies to recognize your browser or device. Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use cookies for various purposes: to help you stay logged in, to remember your preferences and settings, to analyze site traffic and usage, and to personalize content. For example, we might use a cookie to remember your login session so you don’t have to re-enter your credentials on every page. We may also use cookies (or allow our analytics providers to use cookies) to collect aggregate information about how visitors use our site (such as which pages are most visited, if any errors occurred, and how users navigate through the site). This helps us improve functionality and troubleshoot issues.
The types of cookies we may use include:
-
Essential Cookies: These are necessary for the website to function properly, such as to log you in or to remember items in your booking cart.
-
Analytical/Performance Cookies: These cookies collect information about how users interact with our site, allowing us to improve the design and user experience. For instance, we might use Google Analytics cookies to see which pages are popular.
-
Functional Cookies: These remember your preferences (like your chosen location or language) to provide a more customized experience.
-
Advertising Cookies: At this time, we do not use third-party advertising networks that set cookies through our site. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide appropriate disclosures and choices. (Detailr’s business model is service-based, and we currently do not display third-party ads on our app or website.)
When using our mobile app, cookies per se are not used in the same way as on websites, but we may use analogous mobile tracking technologies (such as app analytics SDKs and device identifiers). For example, our app may collect a device identifier or use local storage on the device to store app settings. We treat this information similar to cookies for privacy purposes.
Managing Cookies: On our website, you can control cookies through your browser settings. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your settings to decline cookies or alert you when a cookie is being placed. Please note that if you disable or delete cookies, some features of our Service may not function properly (for example, you may need to log in manually every time, or certain preferences might not be saved). For analytics cookies, Google offers an opt-out mechanism (such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on) if you wish to prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics.
Do-Not-Track Signals: Web browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) option that lets you tell websites you do not want to be tracked across different sites. Currently, there is no uniform standard for how to respond to DNT signals, and we do not respond to these signals in any particular way. We treat the data of all users in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and will update this section if a standard for responding to DNT requests is established in the future. Keep in mind that you can manage your cookie preferences as described above and opt out of certain tracking (such as Google Analytics) through available tools.
Third-Party Tracking: Besides cookies, we may use pixel tags (small image files) or similar technologies in our emails or website to track whether an email was opened or whether a certain link was clicked. This helps us gauge the effectiveness of our communications and marketing. Additionally, as noted in Third-Party Services, third parties like Google may engage in tracking to provide analytics or other services on our behalf. We do not share personally identifying information with third-party advertisers, as we do not run third-party ads, and we do not allow third parties to collect your personal information from our site for their own advertising purposes without your consent.
Data Storage and Security
We take reasonable security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. These measures include:
-
Encryption: We use encryption to protect sensitive data. For example, our website and app employ HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data transmissions, which means that information like your password and any personal details are encrypted when sent between your device and our servers. We encourage you to look for the “https” in the URL or a lock icon in your browser when accessing our site.
-
Secure Storage: Personal data we collect is stored on secure servers, which may be cloud-based (such as on Google Cloud/Firebase or other reputable providers). These servers implement industry-standard security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and regular security audits. Wherever possible, we also encrypt personal data at rest (in storage) or use other obfuscation techniques. For example, passwords are stored in hashed form (a one-way encryption) and not in plain text.
-
Access Controls: We restrict access to personal information to authorized employees, contractors, and service providers who need to know that information to operate, develop, or improve our Service. Those who have access are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations. We also require our third-party service providers to uphold strong security practices.
-
Monitoring and Testing: We regularly monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks. We employ security testing, code reviews, and third-party audits as appropriate to maintain the integrity of our platform. Our payment processing is outsourced to Stripe, which is certified to PCI DSS (a strict security standard for handling payment card data), adding an extra layer of security for financial information.
-
Device Security: The Detailr app relies on the security of your device and authentication measures. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials (username and password) safe and for controlling access to emails or devices through which you communicate with us. We recommend using a strong, unique password for your Detailr account and not sharing it. If you suspect any unauthorized access to your account, please notify us immediately.
Despite our efforts, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should take special care in deciding what information you send to us electronically, and understand that there is some risk any time you transmit information over the internet. If we become aware of a security breach that affects your personal information, we will act in accordance with the Data Breach Notification section below and applicable laws.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. In general:
-
Account Information: We keep your account profile information, booking history, and other data associated with your account for as long as your account is active. If you choose to delete your account or request that we delete your personal information (see Your Privacy Rights below), we will delete or anonymize your information, subject to the exceptions described below.
-
Service and Transaction Records: Information related to transactions (such as bookings, payments, and reviews) may be retained as long as your account exists and for a period after account deletion if necessary for legitimate business interests or legal obligations. For example, we may retain records of transactions for accounting, dispute resolution, or tax purposes. Reviews or ratings you provided may remain visible to other users even after you delete your account, but we can dissociate them from your profile upon request.
-
Legal Obligations and Disputes: We may retain personal data if necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, retaining information for regulatory compliance, audit purposes, or tax requirements). If we are resolving a dispute or enforcing our agreements, we will keep relevant information until the issue is resolved and for a period as legally required (such as the statute of limitations).
-
Backups and Security Logs: Copies of your personal information may exist in routine backups or log files that are kept for security, integrity, or disaster recovery purposes. We will securely store and protect those backups and will delete or overwrite them in the ordinary course of our backup retention schedule.
-
Anonymized Data: In some cases, we may choose to retain data in an anonymized or aggregated form (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for analytical or research purposes. For example, we might retain aggregated usage statistics or performance metrics of our Service, as this data does not identify individuals.
Once the retention period expires or the purpose for collecting your information has been fulfilled, we will either delete your personal information or de-identify it in accordance with applicable laws. If deletion is not feasible (for example, because your personal data is stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal data and isolate it from further use until deletion is possible.
Children’s Privacy
Detailr is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years old. If you are under 13, please do not use our Service or provide any personal information to us. Accounts on Detailr are intended for adults (18+) or minors who are at least 13 years old and using the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
Parents or guardians who believe that Detailr might have collected personal information from their child under 13 may contact us (see Contact Us below) and request that we remove the information.
If you are between 13 and 18 (a minor under 18), you should use our Service only with involvement of a parent or guardian. We encourage parents and guardians to supervise their children’s online activities and help enforce this Privacy Policy by instructing their children never to share personal information without permission.
We also comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and any applicable state laws regarding minors’ privacy. For example, if in the future we offer any features directed at minors or collect information from minors in a way that triggers additional legal requirements, we will take steps to comply (such as obtaining verifiable parental consent before collection).
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. Detailr is committed to honoring applicable privacy rights for our users. This section describes the rights available to residents of California and Delaware, and we extend similar controls to all our users in many cases.
Rights for California Residents (CCPA/CPRA): If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including:
-
Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share about youfamoussoftware.com. This includes the categories of personal information we have collected, the categories of sources of that information, the business or commercial purposes for collecting it, the categories of third parties with whom we share it, and the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
-
Right to Access: You have the right to receive a copy of the specific personal information we have collected about you in a readily usable format. Once we receive and confirm a verifiable consumer request from you, we will provide you with the information to which you are entitled, for the 12-month period preceding your request (or longer, as required by law).
-
Right to Deletion: You have the right to request that we delete personal information we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptionsfamoussoftware.com. For example, we may need to retain certain information to complete transactions you initiated, to comply with legal obligations, to detect or prevent fraud, or for other internal uses consistent with your expectations and applicable law. If we must retain some data for these reasons, we will explain the specific exception when responding to your request.
-
Right to Correction: You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you. If you believe the information we have on file is incorrect or incomplete, you can request that we update it. (We also allow you to correct and update certain information directly through your account profile settings.)
-
Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing of Personal Information: You have the right to opt out of the “sale” of your personal information or the sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Note: Detailr does not sell personal information for money, and we do not share personal information with third-party advertisers for cross-context behavioral advertising at this time, so this right may not be applicable in practice as of the Effective Date of this Policy. We treat data of California residents as if a “Do Not Sell or Share” request has been submitted. If our practices change, we will provide a clear method for you to opt out, such as a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on our website.
-
Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: To the extent we collect any information considered “sensitive personal information” under California law (for example, precise geolocation, account login credentials, or payment information), California residents have the right to direct us to limit the use or disclosure of such sensitive information to what is necessary to perform the services or provide the goods. Detailr only uses sensitive information for necessary business purposes (e.g., using your precise location to match you with nearby services, or using your payment information to complete a transaction). We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond what is allowed, so in practice we do not engage in uses that would trigger the right to limit (other than by obtaining consent when required).
-
Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. This means we will not deny you our services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality of service just because you exercised your rights. (However, please note that if you request deletion of certain data, we may not be able to provide certain services that rely on that data—e.g., if you delete your account data, you will no longer be able to log in or make bookings. This is considered a logical consequence of deletion, not discrimination.)
Rights for Delaware Residents (DPDPA) and Other States: If you are a resident of Delaware, you have rights under the Delaware Personal Data Privacy Act (effective January 1, 2025) that are very similar to the rights described above. These include the right to confirm whether we are processing your personal data, to access your data, to correct inaccuracies, to delete personal data we have collected about you, and to opt out of certain processing of your data. Specifically, Delaware (and certain other states like Virginia, Colorado, etc.) gives consumers the right to opt out of the sale of personal data, the use of personal data for targeted advertising, and certain types of profilingtermly.io. Detailr’s practices are already aligned with these protections: we do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising without consent, and we do not engage in profiling that produces legal or significant effects. If you are a Delaware resident, or a resident of another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may exercise the equivalent of the access, correction, deletion, and opt-out rights described above, and we will fulfill those requests as required by law.
How to Exercise Your Rights: To exercise any of the privacy rights described above, please submit a verifiable request to us by contacting our Privacy team. You may:
-
Email us at support@detailrcorp.com with the subject line “Privacy Request” and let us know which right you wish to exercise (e.g., access, deletion, correction, opt-out). Please include your name and the email associated with your Detailr account, and specify your request.
-
(If available) Submit a request through your account settings: We may provide in-app or online forms for certain requests (for example, a “Delete Account” or data download function). If such tools are available, we will direct you to them in response to your request, as they can speed up the process.
For your protection, we will need to verify your identity before fulfilling a privacy rights request. Typically, we will verify a request by ensuring it comes from the email associated with your account or by asking you to confirm certain account details or recent transactions. If you do not have an account with us, we may ask for additional identifying information relating to your use of our Service. Any information you provide for verification will only be used to confirm your identity or authority to make the request and to log the request.
If you are a California or Delaware resident making a request under your state law, please indicate that in your request (for example, “CCPA Request” or “Delaware privacy request”). This helps us route it correctly. You may make a request up to the frequency permitted by law (for instance, California allows two free requests per 12-month period for certain requests).
Authorized Agents: You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf (if you are a California resident, for example). If you do so, we will need to verify the agent’s authority and may still require you to verify your identity directly. For instance, if an agent contacts us, they should present written permission from you, and we may contact you to confirm that you authorized the agent.
Response Time: We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within the timeframe required by law. In California, this is generally within 45 days, although we may take an additional 45-day extension when necessary (we will inform you of the extension within the initial period). Delaware’s law similarly provides for a response within 45 days, with a possible extension of 45 days. If we cannot comply with your request, we will explain the reasons in our response. If you disagree with our decision (e.g., a refusal to take action because we have an exemption), some states allow you to appeal our decision. We will provide instructions for how to appeal, if applicable, in our response.
Shine the Light (Direct Marketing Disclosure): California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code §1798.83) allows California residents to request information about whether their personal information was disclosed to third parties for those third parties’ own direct marketing purposes. Detailr does not share personal information with third parties for their independent direct marketing purposes (without your consent). Therefore, we do not have any such information to provide. California residents who wish to request further information about our compliance with this law or have questions may contact us as described below.
Data Breach Notification
We have put in place security measures to protect your data (as described in Data Storage and Security above). However, in the unfortunate event of a data breach that compromises the security or confidentiality of your personal information, Detailr will promptly take steps in accordance with applicable laws and regulations:
-
Assessment and Response: Upon discovering a security incident or breach, we will immediately work to contain the incident and assess the scope of the breach. This may involve taking affected systems offline, resetting passwords or credentials if needed, and patching vulnerabilities.
-
User Notification: If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in a significant risk of harm to you (for example, risk of identity theft, fraud, or financial loss), we will notify you as soon as possible, and without unreasonable delay, once we have a grasp of the situation and have restored security. Notification may be provided via email, in-app notification, website notice, and/or other communication methods permitted or required by law. We will provide you with information about what happened, what data was involved (if known), what steps we are taking, and any steps you should take to protect yourself (such as changing passwords or monitoring account statements).
-
Regulatory Notification: We will also comply with any reporting obligations. For example, certain jurisdictions require that we notify state regulators or attorneys general, or credit reporting agencies, if a breach exceeds a certain size or affects certain types of information. We will follow the requirements specific to each jurisdiction as applicable.
-
Remediation: After a breach, we will take steps to prevent a recurrence. This could include enhancing our security measures, providing additional training to staff, or engaging third-party security experts to audit our systems and practices.
-
No Cost Protections: If a breach involves certain sensitive information (like a Social Security number or financial information, though we typically do not collect SSNs or full financial account numbers), we will consider offering credit monitoring or identity theft protection services to affected individuals, if required by law or as a gesture of goodwill, and as appropriate under the circumstances.
Please note that while we aim to notify you quickly, the exact timing and method of notification may be influenced by law enforcement or investigative considerations (e.g., if law enforcement advises that notification would impede a criminal investigation, we may need to delay notification accordingly).
By maintaining transparency and prompt communication, we aim to mitigate any potential harm in the unlikely event of a breach.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update or revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this Policy.
If we make material changes to how we collect, use, or share your personal information, we will provide you with prominent notice of such changes. This could include, for example, posting a notice on our website or within the app, or contacting you via the email address associated with your account. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about our data practices and any updates.
Your continued use of the Detailr Service after any changes or revisions to this Privacy Policy become effective (and after we’ve provided any required notices) indicates that you have read and understood the updated Privacy Policy.
